CURRENT TROPICAL CYCLONES
There are no active tropical cyclones at the time of this writing
There’s a tropical disturbance being referred to as Invest 95S, which is located approximately 273 NM west of Cocos Island, Australia
Here’s was the computer models are showing
According to the JTWC, satellite imagery shows marginal lower level turning with two distinct pockets of deep convection obscuring the broad low level circulation.
95S is currently in a marginally favorable environment with minimal poleward outflow, and warm sea surface temperatures, and low to moderate 10 to 20 knot wind shear.
Global models are in general agreement that that 95S will remain nearly stationary over the next 24 hours…with no intensification.
Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 20-25 knots.
The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours remainsmedium.
