CURRENT TROPICAL CYCLONES:

Tropical Cyclone 02W…is located approximately 117 NM northwest of Manila, Philippines

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/xgtwo/two_pac_2d0.png A broad area of low pressure may form well south or south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula over the weekend or early next week. Environmental conditions are expected to be only marginally conducive, and any development should be slow to occur thereafter while the system moves west-northwestward. * Formation chance through 48 hours…low…near 0 percent * Formation chance through 5 days…low…20 percent   https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/xgtwo/two_cpac_2d0.png No tropical cyclones are expected during the next 5 days   https://www.metoc.navy.mil/jtwc/products/abpwsair.jpg Tropical Cyclone 02W According to the JTWC, satellite imagery shows a broad and somewhat disorganized circulation, with flaring deep convection well to the west, as well as obscuring the assessed low level circulation center. Analysis indicates TD 02W lies in an overall favorable environment with low 5-10 knot wind shear, moderate equatorward outflow and very warm sea surface temperatures. TD 02W will track generally northwestward through 72 hours, making landfall southwest of Hong Kong just after 48 hours. The system is forecast to steadily intensify under favorable environmental conditions through 36 hours, reaching a peak of 55 knots. After peaking, increasing convergence aloft, cooler sea surface temperatures and increasing wind shear will serve to weaken the system prior to landfall. Once over land the system will rapidly weaken, dissipating over land by 96 hours.
