Northwest and Southwest Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea:

>>> There’s an area of disturbed weather, being referred to as Invest 93W which is located approximately 168 NM west-northwest of Yap

Animated enhanced infrared satellite imagery shows a broad, monsoon depression-like circulation with robust convection hiding the low level circulation center within the southeastern quadrant.

Environmental analysis indicates favorable conditions for development with a point source aloft, low (5-10 knot) vertical wind shear, strong divergence aloft, with equatorward outflow, and warm sea surface temperatures.

Global models generally agree that 93W will consolidate, deepen and intensify as it meanders northwestward over the next 24-48 hours.

Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 18 to 22 knots.

The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours remains medium.
